One of the features on the new Mazda3 are the completely concealed wiper blades. The purpose is to help reduce wind noise, provide a sleek look, and to prevent ice and debris from building up on the wiper blades.
That being said, changing wiper blades in the concealed position may be challenging. There is a specific procedure required to move the wiper blades to a position which makes changing them much easier.
